Subject: Thgis is good - Gotta hear Airplane from this show
The Dead songs here are very good and I agree with comments here, however if you are blessed enough to hear the entire show with the Airplane, they were clearly the stellar, inspired 60's groove machine, and shining brilliantly that night. One of the best Airplane live shows I ever heard. SHNID 10356.

Love me some alligator, and this version is one of my favs! Been on a cd for years from my buddy. Thought I'd never find the "show" it was from! Gotta love the archive!

Subject: The Grateful Dead: Show #189
This is more likely the later show of the day so I'm going to assume I'm right in saying #189... If not, bump it back a number. Dead.Net does not take into account multiple shows in a day.

First Lovelight on Archive... Great way to end an 8 show run. More Alligator action as well.

Subject: Early Greatness
A hometown show a few years before I was born.
A Pigpen extravaganza... The Lovelight is pure energy. The reviewer below says it was the first? Just Incredible. Also be sure to check out the previous night's performance:

I personally enjoyed this show slightly better but it's really apples and oranges.

Btw, The O'Keefe Centre still exists. The name changed to the Hummingbird Centre and then to the Sony Centre (corporate sponsorship, you know).

~On This Day In GRATEFUL DEAD History~

I recommend using your EQ during playback of most of the shows on the IA, this one included.

Windows Media Player has a 10 band EQ and SRS WOW effects that enhance the sound.

Here's one way to stream/download this show:

The IA recommends users of Windows XP view this web-page with RealPlayer.

RealPlayer is a free media player you can download at www.realplayer.com.

Using RealPlayer to view this webpage, click the VBR M3U link to open the songs in the Playlist.

If your Playlist is not open, open it by clicking the Playlist icon at the lower right hand corner of RealPlayer.

Once the songs are in the Playlist, double click the song to play it, then click the record button at the lower left hand corner of Realplayer to record it.

When the red line reaches the other end click the stop button to download the song. Your song is in the RealPlayer Downloads folder.

Repeat these steps for each song.

Eat, Drink, Be Merry and Listen to the GRATEFUL DEAD, but if you cant' do that....then STFU.

Thanks for the FREE MUSIC from 42 years ago, 1970.

The first Turn on Your Lovelight, and it's a nice one. Momentous.

Alligator, also pretty new for the band at this point, is hot hot hot, and tight.
